Every year, we ask all families and teachers and staff in grades 3-K through 12, and students in grades 6-12 to take the survey. The survey gives school leaders a better understanding of what you and other members of your school community think about your school. The information collected by the survey is designed to support a dialogue among all members of your school community about how to make your school a better place to learn.

A parent-teacher conference is a short meeting between you and your child’s teacher to talk about your child’s academic performance and experience at school.

These meetings help you understand what your child is learning at school, their progress both academically and social-emotionally, and what you can do to support them. If your child is having particular difficulties, parent-teacher conferences also give you and the teacher time to plan how you can both help them best.

Our “Stay Safe, Stay Open” plan has succeeded in allowing us to keep New York City public schools open and remain among the safest places for young people to be during the COVID-19 pandemic. As our schools did their part in reducing transmission rates, so have New Yorkers as a whole. We are pleased to announce that as a result, we will be implementing changes in our current COVID-19 health and safety policies in our schools in accordance with the latest
